Gracias
One of the major problems in our world today is the problem of ingratitude. We have come to the place in our lives where we actually expect the gifts, attention, praise and applause that others give us. We have our “rights,” you know! From the 4 year old in Walmart yelling at his mom to get him that toy he so *desperately* needs, to the dad who forgets to thank God for his wife and job. From the teen who HAS to have a car when she turns16, to the senior citizen that has somehow forgotten how to say “thanks.” We have failed to be grateful.
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
So, here’s my challenge… What are you thankful for? I’m not just talking about generalizations (e.g. Thanks God for everything), I’m talking about specifics.
Can you name 3 things you’re thankful for today? People, events, blessings–whatever.
